Based and operating from the Canterbury Academy, Kent’s premier Indian Chef, Paul Babra offers a wide range of aromatic gourmet dishes and his selected range of merchandise.

You can see him at various events and join him at his Curry workshops which he runs to show his Culinary expertises and tricks of the trade!.

Born in Jodhpur, Paul Babra has many fond memories of his mother, aunts and grannies making traditional chutneys, preserves and pickles, filling his childhood home with heady aromas.

Even today, the smell of a particular spice blend or a taste of a carefully concocted chutney takes him right back to that kitchen of his hometown in northern Indian.Temporarily leaving behind wonderful aromas of his childhood memories after leaving India, Africa and USA, Paul ventured in Canada to work for his brother in media marketing company.

Prior moving to the UK, Paul was assigned as an accredited photographer. Paul was engaged in photographing global dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela, former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and President Moi of Kenya, he also met famous Bollywood film stars like Amitabh Bachan and Dev Anand.

While working as a civil servant, Paul’s growing flair to present his aromatic food continuing gaining popularity. The family run business grew with their infectious enthusiasm, meant that they quickly developed quite a following, and they have participated in many events in Kent, Essex, France and USA.

Paul established the Canterbury Curry Club as a way of offering home-cooked delicacies primarily to bringing people together to create a social platform of engaging meaningful activities eg telling stories, jokes and personal inspiring experiences. The local Curry Club proved most popular and through word-of-mouth Paul and his team soon found themselves catering for private parties and functions as well.
